Day 1

We based ourselves out of Selva, a beautiful town in the Val Gardena region, one of the highest villages in the Dolomites.  We stayed in the Hotel Plan de Gralba right in the village and it was a perfect location and walking distance for us to access a gondola up to Sassolungo.

Sassolungo has a wide range of trails suitable for all levels of hikers and you can spend the day up there venturing through the valleys and mountain range with the Sassolungo mountain dominating the skyline.  The trails lead you through picturesque alpine meadows, past streams and the imposing rock faces of Sassolungo.

Day 2

Seceda, also situation in the Val Gardena region, is a mountain range renowned for its captivating beauty.  You can take a cable car ride up to Seceda which alone provides an ascent of panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.  Once you’ve reached the top, you will join well-maintained trails which allows you to explore the region’s landscapes and they are plentiful through the valley.  It is filled with vibrant wildflowers through to rugged limestone cliffs. Seceda offers a hiking experience that will leave a lasting impression.

If you have a few hours to spare, take a drive over to Lago di Carezza, an hours drive will bring you to a stunning alpine lake renowned for it’s crystal-clear emerald green waters that reflect the surrounding mountain scenery.

Day 3

Start day at the Rifugio Auronzo .. take the well-maintained and exposed trail for a few kilometres taking in stunning views before reaching the Cadini di Misurina.   A beautiful trail with an unbelievable finish.

Staying in the region, head back to the Rifugio Auronzo and make your way around to the Tri Cime di Lavaredo. A three Peak iconic mountain group in the Italian Dolomites.  A distinct and dramatic formation, it is a moderate trek on a well-marked path.

Whether you are seeking panoramic views, moderate treks or serene connection with nature, these hiking destinations offer over the 3 days offer it all.
